The weekend trick is in the arrival: leave NCR in the evening, join the expressway at Sohna, and be checked in at Jaipur inside four hours - which hands you a complete, unhurried Saturday. If you drive up in daylight instead, Albert Hall's galleries make a fine same-day starter.
Run the classic Saturday: Amber Fort at the 8 am opening, the Panna Meena ka Kund stepwell while it is still empty, Jaigarh for the cannon and the views, Jal Mahal on the way back. Post-lunch, City Palace with Jantar Mantar next door, the Hawa Mahal facade from the street, and Nahargarh as the lights come on.
Sunday closes properly: Birla Mandir or a block-printing workshop out at Sanganer, lunch on MI Road, and the road home by mid-afternoon - the expressway returns you to NCR in time for dinner. Total leave taken: zero. That is the entire genius of the Jaipur weekend.
