How many days you need

A. Darshan Classic — 2N/3D ex-Delhi
Day 1 — Delhi→Haridwar (~210 km, 4–5 hrs). Check in, rest through the afternoon heat. Reach Har Ki Pauri by one hour before dusk for the Ganga aarti — the ghat steps fill early; the best family position is across the canal on the Malviya Dwip side. Common mistakes
- Arriving during Kanwar Yatra by accident. In Sawan (usually mid-July to early August) the highways and city are given over to kanwariyas. Check the lunar calendar; travel then only if that pilgrimage is your purpose.
- Reaching Har Ki Pauri at aarti time. The good standing positions go 45–60 minutes early. With elderly family, go an hour early and sit on the steps across the canal.
- Booking a "5 minutes from Har Ki Pauri" hotel that is 5 minutes by car, 25 on foot through bazaar lanes. Ask for the walking distance.
- Underestimating the sun on the Chandi Devi trek option. The walking path is steep and shadeless; take the ropeway in warm months.
- Handing large sums to unfamiliar "priests" at the ghats. Genuine pandas are register-keepers with fixed family ties; dakshina is voluntary. When in doubt, ask us or your hotel to introduce a known priest.
- Leaving phones and shoes unattended during snan. Use the cloakrooms and shoe stands; the ghat crowd is dense at bathing hours.
